Carolyn Foster Osgood was born in Waterford on May 24, 1937, to Marjorie and Hugh Foster. She attended Waterford schools and graduated from Norway High School. After graduation, she moved to Long Island, New York, where she worked and went to hairdressing school. Upon returning to Maine, she worked in Bethel for many years and married Chet Osgood in 1972. Later, she opened her own beauty shop in her home in Waterford, which she ran for over 40 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Chet in 2015, her parents Marjorie and Hugh, and her sisters Geneva Springer and Frances Bell. She is survived by her stepdaughter Robin Downing; two granddaughters, Casey Pike and Samantha Downing Jones (and her husband Kyle); great-grandsons Luca Ross and soon-to-arrive Cameron Russell; as well as many nieces and nephews.
